there's nothing quite as satisfying as reimagining an antique form that had fallen out of favor into a new form with some bonus functionality. once a hat pin this piece is freshly converted to a pendant with a double bail for elegant movement. the top of the hat pin has been filed down enough to remove danger, but is still pointy enough to function as a coveted toothpick pendant
a one of a kind ornate toothpick pendant that spends the rest of its time being a gorgeous symbol of self-protection? yes, please!
unmarked solid 14k yellow gold with seed pearls and turquoise

one of the seed pearls seems to be a very vintage replacement with some yellowing glue holding it in place. a jeweler advised against messing with it and cautioned that these micro pearls from the victorian era are a lesson in nonattachment
the turquoise is original and has at least one chip on its edge visible with perfect eyes or magnification
heavy patina, surface dulling, scratches, dents, dings, and some warbles throughout the 'blade'
the point of the 'blade' has been filed down enough so that it isn't needle sharp, but there's enough of a point that it could effectively work as a toothpick pendant
